Last Friday, the Middle school did their end of year performance and it was about water. I was at their school and in the auditorium. It was in the morning.
In the show there were two actors that did all the talking. There also was a funny person who said some funny things. All of their names were: Chetna; Nikhil and Dohnivan. (Dohnivan was the funny person).
My favourite part was the ukulele group. The ukulele song was called "One Day a Taniwha". The children in the ukulele group were wearing green T-shirts and also there were children in the background singing. Their t-shirts were blue and they had microphones too, so they could sing. The ukulele people were singing too. The ukulele players kept in time together and their strumming was lively!
The other songs and dances were beautiful too. The whole entire performance was very interesting for people who didn't know about water and who were watching. I'm sure the parents enjoyed watching and were proud of their kids.
If you missed out that would be very sad because it was a lovely performance. Please come next year!

Manurewa Central Middle School Production
Last
Friday the middle school put on a performance for the parents in the auditorium
at 9:30 in the morning. The middle school wanted to show off their wonderful talents
for ukulele, dancing, singing and drama.
The
theme was water because water is our school topic. First a group of gorgeous
girls dance to a song about the water cycle. I liked the part when Uncle Dan
pops out of the rubbish bin. Uncle Dan was in a yellow suit.
Second
there was ukulele and they did a song called One Day a Taniwha. The singers wore a blue t-shirt and the
ukulele players wore a green T-shirt. It
was wonderful.
Next
was a groovy dance called Proud Mary. There were only handsome boys in that dance.
It was awesome when two boys did a cartwheel. They were wearing blue jeans and
a black t-shirt.
Fourth
was Singing in the Rain. It must have been tiring for them because they did
heaps of cool moves. They did a hip hop dance.
Last
of all Let It Snow. It was wonderful because it had jazzy moves, soft moves,
fun moves and ballet moves.
My
favourite dance was Singing in the Rain. The girls wore a black t-shirt, a
black skirt with white polka dots The boys wore a silver vest and black shorts.
They were nice to watch because they kept in time with each other. There were a lot of funny bits like when a
girl waves like a queen and a boy shows his muscles. There was a cool bit when
some people poked their head out on the left and some people poked their head
out on the right. Then they spread out again.
If
you missed it, come next year because it was fabulous.

Middle School End of Year Production
On Friday 9.30 am in the morning the Middle School did their
Production. All the kids families came to see their awesome talent. It was in
the Auditorium which is next to the Library. There were a whole lot of dances,
singers and actors, who performed beautifully.
Do you know how important water is? The theme was all about
water! The main actors who helped us to learn about water were caring Chetna
and nice Nikhel. All the songs and dances were all about water.
My favourite dance was Let it Snow, which was taught by
magnificent Ms Madden. The dance was about Snowflakes falling gently from the
sky, as soft as a blanket. It was a group of 20 spectacular girls. The music
was a slow, soft song. They kept altogether smoothly. This was great. They wore a pale white t shirt and a magical
fluffy skirt.
It was a terrific dance I can’t wait to see another dance
like that again! The whole production was great. The people who didn’t get a
part were great at singing.
People who missed the production this year please come next
time!
Middle School End of Year Production
Last Friday middle school
did a performance in the auditorium to show the parents their unique talents.
It was fantastic. I think they proved that they had fantastic talents.
First up their theme was
about water. You know how important water is, right?
Secondly, they did a dance
called: The Water Cycle. Wow, won’t they
be dizzy after all that twirling?
But my favorite part of that
song or dance was when Uncle Dang pops out of a garbage bin.
Third, was a group of kids playing an instrument called ukulele. The song was about a taniwha. Their costumes were green t-shirt and shorts. In the background there were singers to support the ukulele people’s singing. It’s really hard to strum and sing at the same time. But I have to say that they strummed together nicely. It sounded just like heaven.
Fourth was the second dance called: Proud Mary. They must be proud of their dance. The thing that really amazed me was when two boys did a cartwheel. I couldn’t believe what I saw. I thought it was ridiculous to see boys doing things that girls mostly do.

Next was a dance called: Singing
in the Rain. I loved how they swooped down to 3 lines and some of their heads
went one way and the others went the other way. The boys had moustaches which were
hilarious. The song really reminded me of the rain.
The last dance was - Let it
Snow. It was beautiful. They looked like
icy snowflakes gently floating down from the sky.
It’s hard to choose but I
loved Let it Snow. It was taught by
marvelous Ms. Madden. There were 30 magnificent girls. They wore pale white t-shirts
and a magical fluffy white skirt. They danced together nicely. It looked
magical, like we were in an enchantment. I wished there was dance like this
every year.
That was a fantastic show. I
really enjoyed it. People who missed it,
must come back next year to see the Middle Schools performance.

Water Filter Experiment
We had a wonderful visitor from Watercare Services come to our class to talk about where water comes from and how it gets to our houses and our school. We had lots of fun experimenting with different filters to see which one gave us the cleanest water.
